Gail force winds announce
furiously upon my windows
Neptune's trident shatters glass
sea spray stinging my face
wispy silhouette beyond the surf
timeless beauty beheld in my gaze,
a siren no doubt luring me out to sea
wading spellbound into the crashing waves
prepared to meet my doom
for just a moment spent with her
watching my soul depart body
seas become calm, ripple free
vision of mermaid now in front of me
her soul journeys to me in return,
Neptune slides beneath the surface
broad smile painted upon his face.
